Week 10 NFL Picks
My strong bets of the week are bolded.
49ers –3 vs. Bears
Always love the first Thursday night football game of the season! I agonize each day waiting those 6 days for Sunday. Both these teams have struggled of late after starting the season strong. The playoffs are starting to look like an outside chance for each of these teams, which almost knocks the loser out of the playoff race. I think Singletary will have defense come out hungry and hold the Bears to nothing but garbage points at the end of the game. This would be a good one to bet the under.

Jets –6.5 vs. Jaguars
The Jaguars are 1-3 on the road this year and haven’t been able to find consistent play from week to week. This is a tale of two running teams going head to head. The only problem is the Jaguars are going to forget to pack their run defense. Thomas Jones AND Shonne Greene are going to rip the jaguars to shreds. The Jaguars offense won’t be able to get on the field long enough to get anything going so expect another low score.

Titans –6.5 vs. Bills
The Titans finally figured out the strength of their team…Chris Johnson. The guy is amazing. The Bills don’t have much to talk about on their team. The defense has held some low scores but they won’t be able to control Johnson from breaking off a big run or two. Expect the Titans to make it a three game win streak while they hold the Bills without a touchdown.

Saints –13.5 vs. Rams
Even a win over Detroit doesn’t stop me from believing the Rams are the 2nd worst team in football. (Worst team still to come) The Saints are explosive, exciting, and can play a little defense this year. They haven’t covered the spread in a few weeks but look for them to run up the score this week against the lowly rams. I’m hesitant to bet on the over/under because there’s a chance the rams don’t score a point.

Dolphins –9.5 vs. Buccaneers
Tampa Bay surprised everyone last week and if you predicted that you need to be sending me picks. The Dolphins seem to play tough every week but every game they play is pretty tight. I expect the Dolphins to never trail in this game. The only problem is I think the Bucs’ will have a late surge to get within the spread. I’m staying away from this game with my bets but if I had to pick…

Vikings –16.5 vs. Lions
This is probably the easiest game of the week to pick straight up. Which is why they put such a huge spread! The Vikings are one of the best teams in the NFC and well the lions are the lions…still, the spread is large enough that I just don’t see the Vikings covering. There will be some points scored in this game by both teams.

LOCK OF THE WEEK
Falcons –2 vs. Panthers
The Panthers have one thing going for them. Their running game. Williams is a monster and will have his touches in this game but once the panthers get down they have don’t have the fire power to make a come back. The Falcons play everyone tough. They have some superstar playmakers on their offense to go with a pretty physical defense. Turner will run hard as always and open up everything for some big plays in the passing game. I expect the Falcons to run away with it. This game is my best bet of the week.

Broncos –4.5 vs. Redskins
The point spread in this game is more than a little surprising to me. Denver has lost a couple games in a row to very tough opponents. I won’t hold that against them as much as the cappers are against a team like Washington. Washington is a mess. As if their season wasn’t bad enough now they are missing their star running back. This will be a very lopsided victory.

Steelers –6.5 vs. Bengal’s
This is my upset pick of the week. I think the Bengal’s are going to go into Pittsburgh and come out with a victory. They’ve been an underdog most of the season and seem to thrive under that role. This is a huge match up for both teams so there will be a ton of emotion out there. This is going to be a defensive battle won by the team that doesn’t turn the ball over.

Raiders -2 vs. Chiefs
This is a game of who doesn’t kill themselves the most. Both teams are in complete disarray and have all kinds of off the field issues. I can’t say much about this game other than it will be well played…. By High School football standards. Expect Russell to turn the ball over at least 3 times as usual and the Chiefs to cruise to victory.

Cardinals –9 vs. Seahawks
The Cardinals have seemed to find their groove lately and just in time to start building a lead in their division. The Seahawks always seem to play them tough and know how to put pressure on Warner. I think there will be some points scored in this game and think the Cardinals are going to have to put in more than they expected to come out with a narrow victory.

Cowboy’s -3 vs. Packers
Wow. That’s all I could say after Green Bay’s awful performance last week against Tampa Bay. The Cowboys are playing tough and exciting football right now. This is going to be a high scoring game and Green Bay just won’t be able to keep up. I really like this bet.

Eagles –2.5 vs. Chargers
The Eagles were favored last week and lost. The Chargers were underdogs and won. The Chargers will be on an emotional high coming into this game and I expect them to play tough, just not tough enough. The Eagles have too much talent to lose a second game in a row and they are going to run up the points on the chargers. This should be a highflying game and fun to watch.

Colts –3 vs. Patriots
Two of the best teams in the NFL this decade and two of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game meet up in a must watch. The Sunday night football game is one I am really looking forward too and is probably the Colts best chance to lose this season. These teams will be throwing punches back and forth but I expect Manning to find a way to bring his team to victory in the end.

Ravens –11 vs. Browns
Finally, the game we’ve all been waiting…Wait that’s not right. This is probably the most one-sided Monday night match up of the year. Baltimore is much better than their record suggests while I really can’t believe Cleveland has won a game. You are looking at the worst team in football here playing against a hungry physical defense. This is going to be a laugher.
